William K. Wong Sr, MD

William K. Wong Sr, MD is a seasoned dermatologist of 40+ years, an active Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a Fellow of the Dermatology Foundation. He enjoys his medical mission and practices a "holistic participatory approach to skin and related medical maladies".

Dr. Wong’s main focus are general dermatologic conditions such as acne, infections, eczema, psoriasis and other skin-related diseases. He does surgical removal of warts, cyst, moles and various skin cancers. In addition, he offers cosmetic “look good” procedures such as Botox and Dysport injections; chemical peels; Restylane filler for scars; and laser treatments for excess body hair, sun-damaged skin blemishes, aging lines, and wrinkles.

He was the first dermatologist in Hawaii to offer the Excimer Laser Light System a specifically designed procedure that treats psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and itching from many causes. In addition, he offers total body Ultraviolet Light (UVB-NB) treatments for generalized outbreaks of psoriasis, eczema and other dermatoses.

Together with his son, Ophthalmologist Dr. William K. Wong Jr., he is the first medical practitioner in Hawaii to offer the Pelleve® System, a radio-frequency procedure for safe, painless, effective treatment of aging facial lines, Crow’s Feet, and sagging jowls.

Dr. Wong Sr.'s philosophy is to deliver quality medical care to each patient. He does this through empowering patients to understand, participate, and become actively engaged in the treatment and resolution of their dermatologic ailments.

Recently, as an out-growth from his personal search for optimal health and wellness, he discovered BHRT (Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy), which has been effective in restoring vigor and vitality to his own body. Now he offers this service to selected patients who welcome this type of medical guidance.

Kristina Marie Virata Halloran, DNP, FNP-BC

Kristina is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner accredited by the ANCC. She completed her undergraduate studies at Seattle University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Ultrasound. Moving forward in her career, she next attended University of Hawaii for her BSN certification in 2016 as a Registered Nurse. In her further pursuit of excellence, she completed her Doctorate in Nursing with a specialty in Family Medicine. Her doctorate studies included 3 years of comprehensive didactic instruction and clinical rotations. During her clinical rotations, she chose to concentrate her interest and rotation in Dermatology. It was then she fell in love with the field of Dermatology and realized the social, physical and psychological impact it can have on one’s quality of life. Additionally, she completed her doctoral dissertation directly related to dermatology, in preventing pressure ulcers amongst homebound population, such as those suffering from diabetes, post-stroke and bedridden patients.

After her APRN training, Kristina spent 7 months in a clinical rotation with a board-certified dermatologist. She moved to New York City in December 2019 and spent 6 months at a busy Dermatology office. Then, for the best interest of her family, when the COVID-19 Pandemic hit NYC, she returned back to Hawaii.

Kristina loves Hawaii for the welcoming people, the diversity of cultures and the lifestyle. Kristina was born and raised in Guam and attended the Academy of our Lady of Guam in Hagatna for high school. She moved to Hawaii in 2005. Since then, she has become a “bonafide kamaaina.” Her hobbies include running—she has run two Honolulu marathons,—going to the beach, and enjoying her free time with her two young kids. She joined Dr. Wong Sr. as a Nurse Practitioner in July of 2020. She is undergoing further specialty training in surgical and cosmetic procedures. She looks forward to meeting and assisting our kamaainas and visitors to our “Hawaii-Nei".

During her time at Saint Francis University, Jessica was a member of the cheerleading squad, Forever Remembering our Golden Angels Club, and Pi Alpha National Honor Society of Physician Assistants. She also competed in a Healthcare Team Challenge where her team won the “People’s Choice Award”. In PA, she has horses who she used to compete in rodeo. Her favorite events include barrel racing, pole bending, and breakaway roping. She even competed in national competitions and at the largest rodeo in the U.S. Since arriving on Oahu, she enjoys exploring the island through hiking, snorkeling, and going to the beach. She also enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Mya who is a German Shepherd, and Luna who is a terrier mix from the Hawaiian Humane Society.
